‘North Of Havana’ play music that harks back to a traditional acoustic Latin American style, although many of the songs are fairly contemporary. The line up started out as a four piece but this year they decided to add double bass.

The band is fronted by virtuosic player Simon Prince on flute and alto flute, and by jazz vocalist JULIE EDWARDS who sings most of the songs in Spanish and Portuguese. The rhythm section is made up of jazz saxophonist turned guitarist KEVIN DEARDEN on guitar, respected Manchester player Dave Turner on bass and percussionist Chris Sykes who is well known for his expert knowledge of Latin American grooves.
