"...A really nice musical evening. You were very relaxed but also very focused. Liked the material, loved the crisp but very quiet drumming and the quartet feel. It is a long time since I've heard scat singing and really enjoyed it. When you did your scat it sounded like sheer exuberance bubbling over, and was delightful. Singers often sound as if they are either taking over the band or are grafted on as an afterthought - the musical rapport that exists between you and Kevin means that neither of these failings occurred. One of Kevin's strengths is that he is a generous player. But better than that you both kept the other guys in the frame. Everyone was involved in a collaboration. It doesn't get better than that."
J D, W Yorks

"Just a quick email to tell you how much we enjoyed your performance last night at the LBT it was good to see that you were a complete sell out. It just shows what a terrific following you are building up for yourselves with all your hard work. You get better every time that we see you. Your backing throughout the evening was excellent, especially your pianist and Kevin is now backing you on guitar with such sympathy ...
I am already bragging about you to friends in the USA and Australia!
R K, West Yorkshire

"Greatly enjoyed your set last night – you were all on good form and I liked your choice of songs. 2 or 3 years ago I thought a jazz gig wasn’t complete without 1 or more saxes, but lately I enjoy guitars as much if not more. It probably started with hearing Kevin playing for the first time and realising the range of a guitar" S W, North Yorks

"Kevin - well it pains me to say it but after yesterday I have to admit the sax's loss is the guitar's gain!" P D, Cheshire

'Thoroughly enjoyed your work. Your singing and choice of material are sublime. The musicians you surround yourself with are a joy
in their own right. There will always be a market for class. Keep the flame burning.' K W, West Sussex

"It was really nice to meet and I thought your sets were great. You have a gift for communicating with the audience
and that is something that a lot of jazz groups lack. 'Mercy Mercy Mercy' was fantastic, it had a real feel good quality to it.
Thanks for a lovely evening." The Jazz Rep, Jazz Sydicate Radio, Ipswich

"You were all brill, as per usual" Sally Moon, BBC Radio Cumbria

"This is just a short note of appreciation to say how much I enjoyed your performances in Cardiff. I felt like I had known you for a long time, such was the warmth and enthusiasm for the music! Having bought two of your albums I have to say how well made they are and how well your singing matches the fine and edgy playing of Kevin. I love your lyrical interpretation of the standards and found that your timing, phrasing and vocal range brings out much in these great songs that I had not really heard before! Your music has brightened up my week and the albums will bring repeated pleasure for years to come.'. R D, South Wales

"I would like to congratulate you and Kevin for this superb jazz recording. It will be an enormous pleasure to air songs featured on the CD.
Our 18 affiliate stations will welcome you with 'open ears'". Robert Boulay, Alliance des Radios Communautaires du Canada

"I am writing on behalf of the Central Hall trust to thank yourself, Kevin and the other members of the quintet, most sincerely for the superb concert which you performed. Everybody I have spoken to has been enthusing about the concert and the acclaim
which you received from the audience spoke for itself." Howard Mills, Grimsby Central Hall Trust, Lincolnshire
